Cervical Smear Screening

Have you had your screening appointment yet? If not please contact the Surgery to book yourself in.

Cervical screening (a smear test) checks the health of your cervix. The cervix is the opening to your womb from your vagina. It’s not a test for cancer, it’s a test to help prevent cancer. All women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 should be invited by letter.
Please do contact us to book with our Practice nurse

Age 24.5: first invitation (invitations to first screen are issued at 24.5 years).
Ages 25 to 49: 3-yearly screening.
Ages 50 to 64: 5-yearly screening.
Ages 65 plus: screening of those who have not been screened since age 50, or those who have not yet met the criteria to be ceased from the programme.
